Repotting a Venus flytrap is simple when you follow the right steps. Take your time and handle the plant gently.
Pour the special carnivorous plant potting mix into a clean bucket or bowl.
Gradually add rainwater, reverse osmosis or demineralized water (available in containers in supermarkets), then mix.
Mix until you obtain a very moist, almost muddy substrate : this is the ideal texture for repotting without stressing the plant.
Fill the pot, tamping lightly , without excessively compacting the substrate.
Carefully remove all the soil from the mini-plug of Dionaea muscipula , then gently rinse the roots with pure water.
Make a hole with your finger in the center of the pot and place the Dionaea in it , with the roots spread out well.
Cover the substrate around the plant, tamping it down lightly: repotting is complete .
Your Dionaea is now ready to resume its growth under optimal conditions. Next, place it in a bright location and keep the substrate moist with suitable water.
