Originally from South East Asia , this Hoya has a slightly slower growth than its cousin Hoya kerrii which does not prevent it from having the behavior of a dynamic vine.
The veins of the leaves of Hoya crassipetiolata are quite characteristic and give it a very unique appearance. Rare, Hoya crassipetiolata is all the more interesting in this large family of Asclepiadaceae (or Apocynaceae according to the classification of living organisms).
When you receive the branches to be replanted, simply stick them halfway into well-drained potting soil . Hoyas root slowly, but with patience and the right conditions (see below), it's child's play!

The location of your Hoya crassipetiolata will greatly affect its substrate requirements. You can use either a professional quality horticultural soil or a special mixture composed of 50% blond peat , 25% horticultural soil and 25% perlite .
Xaxim, whether in a plate or pot , is also an excellent solution as a growing medium because the root system of Hoyas in general grows very vigorously there.
Hoya crassipetiolata does not like temperatures that are too low. Do not let it go below 15°C, possibly 10°C but very occasionally. As long as it does not suffer from a lack of water, it will tolerate high temperatures but will grow less well above 30°C.
Like many other Hoyas, Hoya crassipetiolata appreciates osmosis water or rainwater. Make sure to never have water in the saucer and space out waterings sufficiently so that the surface of the substrate dries between two waterings. Respect a vegetative rest in winter by spacing waterings two weeks apart depending on the size of your pot.
This Hoya appreciates very bright situations . In nature it grows as well by crawling on branches and rocks as by climbing on the branches of a broad-leaved tree.
In spring and summer, it is beneficial to spray the plant with foliar fertilizer diluted to a quarter, twice a month.
