Drosera natalensis is a carnivorous plant belonging to the Droseraceae family, native to southern Africa , particularly South Africa and neighboring regions. It grows naturally in humid and sunny areas , often in sandy or peaty soils.
This species forms a rosette of elongated leaves covered with glandular tentacles that produce a sticky mucilage used to capture small insects. The leaves can take on reddish hues under strong light , making the plant particularly decorative.
A plant that is dying is often due to unsuitable growing conditions. Consult our guide: Why is my carnivorous plant dying ?

A very bright to sunny exposure promotes the growth and coloration of the leaves.
Keep the substrate constantly moist with rainwater, reverse osmosis or demineralized water .
A lean, acidic mixture works very well.
This species prefers temperate to warm temperatures and cannot tolerate frost.
Moderate to high ambient humidity promotes good mucilage production.
Drosera generally do not need fertilizer , as nutrients are obtained through captured insects.
