Sarracenia purpurea subsp. venosa
In the large Sarracenia family, the subspecies Sarracenia venosa, whose leaves are heavily veined with red, is distinguished from the type species by the edge of its pitchers which is wavy, somewhat like the undulations of the cap of Sarracenia x "Daniel Rudd" .
This very decorative plant thanks to its purple colors will not exceed thirty cm in height.
Its red flowers bloom in spring.
5 to 15 cm high
From October to March (rest period) , the foliage of the plant partially disappears. The Sarracenia purpurea subsp. venosa is then delivered in the form of a rhizome still rooted in a pot and ready to start again in spring.
