Asparagus densiflorus, more commonly known as feathery asparagus or asparagus fern, is a houseplant much appreciated for its light and airy foliage reminiscent of ferns.
Asparagus densiflorus is a great option for humid tropical terrariums. Its drooping stems and delicate foliage create a very aesthetic waterfall effect. In addition, it appreciates the ambient humidity often present in terrariums, which allows it to grow in a confined environment.
Asparagus densiflorus needs regular watering, but avoid spraying the leaves to prevent the appearance of fungal diseases. The substrate must remain slightly moist at all times, without being soggy.
Use a light, well-drained substrate, specially designed for indoor plants. You can add perlite or vermiculite to improve drainage.
Apply a liquid fertilizer for green plants, diluted to half strength, every two weeks during the growing season (spring and summer).
Repot your Asparagus densiflorus every 2-3 years, in spring, in a slightly larger pot.
