Drosera capensis compacta
A carnivorous plant about ten centimeters tall, the Cape sundew is native to South Africa. It grows in a humid temperate climate and it is in full sun that it shows the extent of its splendor. Each leaf is covered with hairs ending in sticky translucent pearls; these are formidable traps for insects.
It blooms profusely in spring, displaying clustered mauve flowers that bloom one after the other.
Smaller than the classic Drosera capensis, it inherits the name Drosera capensis compacta
