Dionaea muscipula 'Louchapates'
In the superb Dionaea family, Dionaea Louchapates is a cultivar obtained by the French grower Romauld Anfraix.
The teeth of the traps of this Dionaea are sometimes fused, but it is the partial fusion of the two lobes at their ends that is the origin of its very singular name: literally, the dough ladle (Louchapates)! This spoon-shaped trap reaches 3 cm.
From September to March (rest period) , Dionaea muscipula 'Louchapates' takes on a smaller form, like for example Dionaea muscipula 'Paradisia' . The leaves are shorter and remain on the ground.
In spring it produces pretty white flowers.
