We do not use any phytosanitary products!
There are two very simple reasons for this. The first is simply that we don't want to expose ourselves because, even though we are passionate, we don't want to die from our work. The second is that we don't want you or the environment to suffer any more.
No chemicals, but a whole battery of weapons
Just because we don't use chemicals doesn't mean we don't have a whole process for pest control. Our toolbox includes black soap , white vinegar , grapefruit seed extract , rapeseed oil , neem oil and diatomaceous earth, to name a few.
Supported by a specialized design office, we also use crop auxiliaries by releasing them into our greenhouses. This ranges from 7-spotted ladybugs at different stages (stage 3 larvae, adults, etc.) to lacewings , mostly in egg form.
Added to this is the elbow grease that is no small part of the fight against pests in our crops. This involves strategic repotting on the one hand, but also the moving of certain plants (in our greenhouses but some are also taken out of the greenhouses as needed as part of our methodology).
What impact does such a philosophy have on Karnivores?
The impact for Karnivores is de facto financial and is expressed in several ways:
+ We spend time and equipment repotting , monitoring , sorting and moving plants depending on the problems, but we also spend more time observing our plants to anticipate future problems.
+ We spend more time caring for our plants because the natural "treatments" we use require many more passes to have an effective impact.
+ We lose more plants and accept it, which nevertheless requires increasing the profitability and therefore the price of other plants to compensate
The impact is also moral:
> We're not afraid of going to work... Not bad, huh?
> We can proudly continue to say that our plants are of quality because we believe that the fact that they are healthy is precisely part of this quality.
> We participate, in our own way, in the preservation of our biodiversity
Do you want to help us on this subject?
Just because we fully believe in our approach and its merits doesn't mean we don't need support. A word, some advice if you have solid feedback, a share on your social networks, a review on Google or Trustpilot , a postcard...
We're a small organization, and even the smallest thing can put us in trouble, but the smallest thing can also make a difference. Without you, nothing is possible, so don't hesitate to give us a helping hand!
