Principle : Reproduce an artificial winter to initiate germination.
Preparation : Fill a pot with chopped dehydrated sphagnum moss and moisten it or use one of our mini-greenhouses .
Sowing : Place the seeds on the surface without burying them.
Cold stratification : Close the mini greenhouse and store it in the refrigerator for 8 weeks.
Post-stratification : Remove the greenhouse from the refrigerator and place them in an area with diffused, intense light, avoiding direct sunlight.
Conditions : Keep the greenhouse closed throughout germination, which can take from a few weeks to a year.
Initial growth : Leave seedlings under cover (closed greenhouse) to encourage growth and watch for moss that could smother them.
Replanting : Replant several times if necessary in a new substrate.
Habituation : Once the seedlings are large enough, gradually open the mini-greenhouse to accustom them to a lower humidity level.
Environment : Keep seedlings in a high humidity environment until they reach about 2.5 cm in diameter, when they can be moved to their final growing location.
