Catopsis live hanging on branches, much like Tillandsia. They can also be grown in a regular, well-drained soil.
Bromeliad of the moment
Its long, colorful and tortuous leaves, along with being an easy grower, make it a fascinating and original plant at once !
The little price
Its colors are unbelievable ! All Neoregelia can do as well outdoors in a shady place, as indoors in a terrarium tank.
streptophylla
Myrmecophilous Tillandsia native to Central America countries, where it grows at low elevations. The name means literally "with twisted leaves" - indeed, when the plant is grown in low humidity levels, the eaves are very tortuous, as those of Tillandsia xerographica. It is all the more impressive as the species is big-sized. The inflorescence is a genuine work of art, developing several ears which show a gradation from bright red to silvery green. A magnificent plant ! Grow it horizontally to prevent the pseudobulb from rotting due to an accumulation of water inside it.

- Prevent them from direct sun in summer, especially during warm hours. In winter, find a luminous place.
- Put them inside or outside in summer when the weather is fine. Can live in a wide range of temperature, from 10°C to 30°C.
- Just like for carnivorous plants, water them with rainwater or demineralized water. You can soak up the plants a few seconds in water, or mist the leaves.
- In spring and summer, it is beneficial to feed them with orchid fertilizer diluted to a quarter twice a month.
