Native to Costa Rica and Mexico, Catopsis morreniana is a rare bromeliad. The green, silvery leaves, have lighter, almost translucent edges. It spreads high in the trees, growing on the branches. A grown-up specimen can reach up to 35 cm, and develops large floral stalks. Contrary to Catopsis berteroniana, it is not a carnivorous plant.
