It is the orchid used to produce vanilla. It's a vigourous plant - it develops thick, silky and gleaming leaves along a climbing stalk. It is advised to plan a horizontal support on which it will be able to hang on several times. Blooming occurs only when the plant is more than 5 meters high. After pollination, the pods reach maturity in 8 to 10 months.
