Impressive cylindrical cactus, native to Paraguay and western Brazil, reaching 1 metre high.The stalk is constituted by numerous narrow ribs strewed with a very high density of fine, flexible, completely white prickles. On this species, they are usually yellow. Once adult, the plant emits a large quantity of plantlet from its base. Numerous yellow flowers of 5 cm in diameters, bloom at the top of the column... Stunning !
The contractions of the column are natural - they are the result of the dormancy periods it passed trough since the beginning of its growth.
We deliver all cacti with their roots contained in a mini clod. They are to repot using the provided compost and pot.

Température
Up to 50°C. Prevent it from undergoing temperatures below 5°C. A few months with a cool temperature (below 15°C), between October and March, are necessary for the dormancy of the plant.
Eau

Use a limestone-free water. In summer, a moderate watering each week is necessary. Do not hesitate to wet the plant so as to wash it. In spring and autumn, water once a month. Do not bring any water in winter. Make sure that the soil is dry before water, and do it when the weather is warm and sunny.
Engrais

Once a month, from March till September, provide a dose of fertilizer for cacti.
Luminosité

Partially shaded sunlight. In winter, if you cannot leave it outside, placeit in a cool room, even if light is very weak. After winter, gradually get the plant used to sunlight again.
Substrat

Use
the mix for cacti. After repotting, don't water before a few days, so as to let the roots establish again.
